As the production facility of Farm Frites is within 3 km distance, it makes perfect sense that Maarten Poldervaart at Oudenhoorn has invested in a perfect storage for French fries potatoes.
This storage was built in 207 for approx. 2000 tons. The storage exists of a large room seperated by a fixed wall for 2 times 800 tons and a pressure box ventilation system for 300 tons.
Poldervaart is an agricultural contractor that often dries and stores small quantities for neighbor farmers. The box system offers him a lot of flexibility.

The pressure chamber is positioned at the rear end. The axial flow fans are mounted in the fan floor and press the air into the semi circular ducts. Non return valves are not mounted because all 6 axial flow fans of 3 kW each are connected to the frequency converters.

The frequency converters provide longer and more frequent internal ventilation possibilities with less drying of the crop and at much lower energy costs. "I was flabbergasted when I checked the very low bill for the energy costs!" says Maarten Poldervaart.
The main advantage is that the air condition (temperature and relative humidity) in the room and crop is much more homogeneous. This reduces unnecessary drying out, shinkage and pressure spots.
The Orion user interface is mounted in the front of the store and has 3 independant controls. The Orion is operated by Maarten and his wife Sophia. In case of questions, they just call Mooij. "The operation is very easy and you are immediatley informed in case something is wrong" says Sophia.
As soon as the new canteen is ready, a PC with Rainbow will be installed.
