28.000 ton storage

Bocang, (China); chips potatoes.

In 2007 Bocang was founded by the private Shangdong company Golden Continent Real Estate Co., Ltd. "Bo " means "large or plenty" and "Cang" means "storage". And indeed the company first invested in a large storage of 28.000 tons. Jining, located in Inner Mongalia; autonomous region, was selected because of the suitable climate for growing potatoes, available logistics, rapid transport connection to Beijing and local government support. The focus of Bocang for the coming year is further expansion of storage and processing.

The buidling is provide with a central corridor and 8 rooms, 4 on each side of the corridor. Each room is 64 meters long and 20 meters wide. The 4 inner rooms have the air inlet via the roof. The 4 outer rooms suck the air in via the side walls. The air outlet is partly arranged in the outer wall and partly via an outlet duct in the corridor.

The latest technology is applied, such as axial flow fans with frequency converters for variable air flow. A control system based on duct temperature American style, relative humidity control, humidification by means of large surface humidicells, CO2 control. And of course the building is well insulated with insulation panels and PU spray foam, because in wintertime the temperature can reach -30°C.

The storage is dedicated to processing potatoes. Flake, French Fries and chips potatoes as well can be stored in the right way. A leader in the Food Industry is using this storage for the coming season. The varieties are Atlantic and other chips potato varieties.
